Sprung 3 and exhibits a increasing EC trend. Spool Spring 5 (also known as the PeaCOCo
• Pond) issues out of another old mine
it th o
no f S
oil S
rin
3 It di
l
p r p
p
g
. sp
ays an
increasing EC trend. All these springs eve ntually flow into the Wedge Impoundment vva
Little Grassy Creek. Spoil Spring 7 exists at the upper end of the Wedge Impoundment.
Its EC plot displays a decreasing EC trend.
- Spool Springs 6 and 10. These springs exist in the Wolf Creak spoils. Spoil Spring 6
exists along the northwest edge of the spoils and exhibits a decreasing EC trend. Spoil
Spring 10 was discovered in 1993. It exists along the southwest edge of the spoils in the
vicinity of the Wolf Creek undezdrain. It displays on decreasing EC trend.
- Spoil Spring 9. This spring is located in the area immediately upstream of the 000
pond. It exhibits an increasing EC trend.
Comparison of Suzface Watez quality to Water Use Standards. SCC has Compiled a list of
surface water standazds for agzicultuzal uses (Table 9). This list is composed mostly of
CDOH suzface water agzicultuzal use standards as of March 1999 (sea footnotes B, C, and F
• on that table), although other agency standards have been used i£ the CDOH has no suzface
water agzicultuzal standard for a particular parameter (all other footnotes).
Table 30 provides a comparison of surface water quality to agricultural standards. This
Paradox database generated table does not include the units of concentration (mq/1 or
ug/1) foz each parameter. The units used for each parameter aze the same as those listed
on the standards table (Table 9) and are also the same as those used in the water quality
reports. Tha frequency column on Table 10 indicates the number of exceedences out of the
total number of samples (i.e., 1/2 indicates one exceedence out of two samples). Below vs
a summary of standards that were exceeded. Given in parenthesis ie the source and use of
each standard. Although the CDOH does not indicate between livestock and irrigation uses
vn they surface water (SW) agricultural standards, they have done so in their similar
ground water (GW) agricultural standards (see Table 5). Por the sake of discussion, SCC
chooses to use those ground water use standards for surface water use evaluation.
Parameter Number of So tes
aluminum (CDOH, Gw, livestock) 3
• pH (CDOH, GW, irrigatoon) 7
fluoride (CDOH, GW, irrigation) 1
)~
