A two inch rubber hose was used I/8/99 to lie the G" barren liquor pipeline (with -bOpsi flow) into a 2" wash water <br />pipeline so that a dilution flow could be Itrovided to recovery well IA-SHR <br />The rubber hose was inspected after turning valves on, with no leakage noted. The WRN employees proceeded to the well 1/~3 <br />mile from the rubber hose to check for leilcs. None were noted at the well. Upon returning to rubber hose, steam was observed <br />and flow from ruptured hose noted. Flow of up to 150 gpm was estimated for less than ten minutes. <br />VOLUMES OF POLLUTANTS: Discliarged/consumed: Aoproximately 1.500 Qallons <br />Recovered: Nane <br />TIME REQUIRED TO CONTROL EVENT (in hours) 0.2 hours <br />ACT10N TAKEN TO CONTROL EVEtdT, DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGE, CLEAN UP PROCEDURES AND DATES: Valves <br />were immediately fumed ofI'. Fifteen minuets after the spill, an inspection of the site by the Envir./Safety Manager determined no <br />clean up was possible a[ this time as all the water had soaked into the snow and soil. Following winter/spring dilution with <br />precipitation, an assessment wilt be made of damages to vegetative cover.
