February 2003 Hoydex Gu&h Mine 2002 Annua! Rcdama[iox and Hydm/ogy Report ~ Page 3 <br />Parcels 003, HG-8 and E received shrub augmentation plantings in 1996 by HGCC, the <br />previous operator. Approximately, 7.8 acres were planted with 6,388 woody stems consisting <br />of willow, dogwood, cottonwood, Woods rose, currantberry, buffaloberry, chokecherry, <br />serviceberry, fendlera, Douglas hawthorn, snowberry, cinquefoil, and shrubby cinquefoil. In <br />addition, approximately 1,200 Gambel's oak atoms were planted. In 1997, an additional 930 <br />currantberry and 578 Woods rose were planted to supplement the stem counts in the Pazcel <br />E and Pond 004 South shrub azeas. <br />As part of Technical Revision No. 62 (TR-62), the previous operator, HGCC, and CDMG <br />established a shrub density standazd of 750 stems per acre for the three shrub augmentation <br />pazcels. A woody stem count of the augmentation parcels was conducted during June 2002. <br />The shrub density in the parcels was greater than the 750 stems per acre shrub density <br />standazd. <br />Office of Surface Mining_Distutbed Area Categories <br />Acrer in long-term mining or reclamation facilitier. <br />The entire permit azea of approximately 8.9 acres is in long-term redamadon. <br />Acres in active mining arear. <br />There is no active mining at the Hayden Gulch Mine. Shrub augmentation planting <br />occurred in 1996. <br />The Pond HG-8 parcel was seeded for herbaceous cover in 1982. Shrub augmentation <br />planting occurred in 1996. <br />The Parcel E area was seeded for herbaceous cover in 1984 and 1985. Shrub augmentation <br />planting occurred in 1996. <br />MWH * P.O.
