Kvaerner Metals Project No. 306900 <br />General Specification No. GC-01 <br />Site Work <br />2.3 Standard Specifications (State of Colorado) <br />2.4 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials <br />(AASHTO) <br />2.5 Surface Operating Standards for Oil and Gas Exploration and Development <br />by Bureau of Land Management <br />1 3.0 GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION <br />A geotechnical engineering study report for this project, prepared by Lambert and <br />Associates of Montrose, Colorado, shall be considered a part of this specification. <br />r <br />4.0 CLEARING, GRUBBING AND STRIPPING <br />Clearing shall consist of cutting trees, stumps and brush to approximately ground level, <br />and disposal of cleared material. <br />Grubbing shall consist of removal of all growth, stumps, trees, roots, and similar organic <br />' matter. <br />Stripping shall consist of removal and depositing of all top soil down to a depth of at least <br />' 6 in. or to suitable material as determined by the Engineer. <br />Stripped material shall be stockpiled as directed by the Engineer in areas from which it <br />may be reclaimed. <br />Stripped material, meeting the requirement of Section 5.2 may be used as general fill <br />material. <br />Removed combustible materials may be stockpiled for wild life habitat, in accordance <br />with all applicable laws and regulations, or otherwise disposed of in areas approved by <br />the Engineer. Burning of materials requires advance approval by the Owner and the <br />Engineer. <br />5.0 GRADING <br />5.1 General Excavation <br />Areas to be excavated shall first be cleared, grubbed and stripped. <br />~; Excavation shall conform to limits shown on the drawings or as stated in this <br />specification.
