Re vege[aiion Monitoring <br />Revegeta tr on monrto a ng of permanently re vege to ted areas was conducted during the summer of <br />1999 by ESCO AssocraCes, Inc. The 1999 annual revegeta[ron monitoring report is submi[tetl <br />as a separate document IESCO and SCC, 2000). <br />Grazing <br />Long yearlrngs grazed in Che Wadge Pasture antl [he Pecoco Pasture during 1999. On May 15, <br />152 head were placed in the Pecoco Pasture. On July 15, 200 head were placed in the Wadge <br />pasture. On July 8, all cattle were moved off the Pecoco pasture. On September 12, ail <br />cattle were moved off the Wadge pasture. <br />This grazing scheme resulted in 127 animal unit months (AUMS of grazing in the Wadge <br />Pasture, and 104 AUMS of grazing rn the Pecoco Pasture. Based on 1999 Wadge Pasture <br />sampling data, the annual produc cr on was 2724 pounds per acre on 300 acres, resulting in <br />1008 AUMS available. The result rng utilization in the Wadge PasCUre was 12.5 percent. <br />The resulting utilization for Che Pecoco Pa state 11564 lb./acre production (1998 da[al, 210 <br />acres, 405 AUMS available) uas 26 percent. <br />Srnce SCC must haul water [o the cattle rn the Wadge Pasture this pasture is not u[rllzed <br />as much as the Pecoco Pasture which has live water. In 1999, SCC changed the Wadge pasture <br />Ee nce to include stock pond N29 a[ the lower wolf Cce ek tech imed area. <br />Assumptrons: 1 long yearling = .R AUM, requiring 648 pounds of forage per month.
