Ms. Sandra Brawrr
© January 7, 1999
Page ?
4.0 ROADS
The widths of both the main haul road and the access road across Bush Draw mere reduced
during 1995. The remaining road segments have been sized as permanent and temporary
light-use roads, respectively, for post-reclamation access. No additional road disturbance or
reclamation has occurred subsequent to 1996.
5.0 TOPSOILING AND REVEGETATION
No additional topsoiling or revegetation activities occurred during 1998. However,
remediation on an area of excessive rill and gullying was initiated during the late fall of 1998.
Remediation will continue in the spring/summer of 1999.
Selective spraying was completed to control and eliminate minor infestations of
Canadian/musk thistle. Sprayed areas will be inspected next spring to evaluate weed control
success and re-sprayed as necessary to assure effective control. Map 1, 1998 Reclamation
Map, portrays the areas sprayed.
6.0 DRAINAGE AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
No new ponds, ditches, or other drainage and sediment control structures were constructed
during 1998. The sediment control structures (ponds) were upgraded by placing riprap along
the water line of the embankments. The disturbance area associated with existing
unreclaimed areas of the sedimentation ponds and ocher drainage and sediment control
structures is approximately 19.1 acres.
During 1998 Kerr completed routine main[enance on existing drainage and sediment control
structures, including inspection of all ponds, ditches, and culverts and cleaning of ditches and
culverts as necessary to remove any excess accumulations of sediment or debris and maintain
effective function.
7.0 TOPSOIL STOCKPILE
No topsoil recovery or replacement activities occurred during 1998, therefore, none of the
remaining topsoil stockpiles were disturbed. The six remaining topsoil stockpiles, as shown
on the 1998 Reclamation Map, cover approximately 5.8 acres.
8.0 SURFACE FACILITIES
As shown on the 1998 Reclamation Map, disturbance associazed with the remaining surface
facilities totals approximately 13.8 acres.
9.0 LOADOUT AREA
The Loadout area had some facility demolition conducted during 1998 and will undergo
significant demolition and reclamation during 1999. No surface backfilling or regrading was
conducted in 1998.
10.0 GRAZING
No lives[ock grazing occurred during 1998 due [o problems in coordinating with the local
rancher who has been involved in the grazing program in the past. Jim Mossman, who
