No additional site disturbance or reclamation <br />occurred during the 1998 reporting period. Active mining and related activity was <br />suspended and final reclamation activities were initiated at the end of January 1993. Final <br />backfilling, regrading, topsoiling, and mulch crop seeding of the major remaining <br />disturbance areas including the Pit 1 area and road and pond areas was completed during <br />1995. Final reclamation seeding of these areas, minor supplemental drainage protection <br />work, and revegetation success evaluations were completed during 1996. Site activities at <br />the mine area during 1998 were limited to required si[e inspection and maintenance <br />including routine cleaning of ditches and culverts, repair of minor rill and gull}' erosion, <br />placement of riprap on pond embankments, and spraying for noxious weed control. Site <br />activities at the tipple area were limited to partial removal of the tipple building. <br />1.0 MINING AND TOPSOIL REMOVAL <br />Active mining operations a[ the Marr Mine ceased in January 1993 and no mining or topsoil <br />removal activities have occurred subsequent to this date. <br />2.0 BACKFILLING AND REGRADING <br />The Pit 1 area and poaions of the main haul road and Bush Draw access road <br />! (approximately 61.2 acres) were the final mine disturbance areas to be backfllled and <br />regraded. Final regrading of these areas was completed during 1995 and no backfilling or <br />i regrading has occurred subsequent to 1995. <br />Per Technical Revision Nos. 18 and 19 (September and December 1998) limited additional <br />backfilling and grading are proposed at the Mine and Loadout areas during 1999. <br />3.0 OVERBURDEN STOCKPILE <br />The main overburden stockpile for the Marr Mine was removed and the associated <br />disturbance area reclaimed in 1993-1994 in conjunction with reclamation of the 720 Pit area. <br />No remaining overburden stockpiles exist at the Marr Mine. <br />P.O.
