Introduction: <br />In compliance with Rule 2.04.13, Bowie Resources Limited (BRL), Permit No. C-81-038, <br />submits the following Reclamation Report for the calendar year 2001. <br />Reclamation Activities: <br />During the reporting period of 2001, Bowie Resources continued work on reclaiming the <br />Bowie No. 1 East and West Mines. A summary of the work completed beginning in year <br />2000 through the end of 2001 is as follows: <br />Reporting Year 2000 <br />West Mine: <br />Portal Area In late November 2000, reclamation of the West Mine <br />began. Reclamation consisted of removing all permanent <br />structures, (electrical substation, rockdust bin, fueling <br />station, shop/warehouse and MCC building). Sealing three <br />portals and backfilling each portal with 25 feet of non- <br />combustible material. All miscellaneous mining equipment <br />was removed from the site as well. Portal areas were ripped <br />to an approximate depth of 2 feet and backfilling of the area <br />started. <br />Fan Shaft Area Reclamation of the Fan Shaft Area consisted of backfilling <br />the ventilation shaft with approximately 50 feet of <br />noncombustible material. <br />East Mine Reclamation of the East Mine consisted of removing some <br />permanent structures. The steel structure sheltering the fuel <br />station located on the Portal Level and the lump bin located <br />on the Crushing and Screening Level were removed from the <br />site. <br />Reporting Year 2001 <br />West Mine: <br />Portal Area Backfilling of the Portal area continued throughout 2001. <br />At the end of the 2001 reporting year, Bowie Resources Ltd. <br />had completed approximately 80 percent of the backfilling. <br />Topsoil located on the fill outslopes was moved to a <br />temporary storage location during the backfilling process. <br />Fan Shaft Area The ventilation shaft was filled during this reporting period. <br />2 <br />
