Previous lifts were not being <br />scarified prior to placement of successive lifts. This occurred only above the 8599 <br />~ (approximate elevation) lift. <br />' QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTING AND REVIEW <br />• Liner Cover <br />' The area in Acre 36 where the tested liner cover thickness was approximately 1 5 inches (24 <br />inch minimum thickness required) was covered with an additional 6 to 12 inches of material. <br />' Additional material was placed over approximately % acre at and around the test area. <br />Additional stockpiles of liner cover material were placed at random locations around the <br />periphery of the tailings impoundment. These stockpiles are to be used to replace eroded <br />sections of liner cover within the existing impoundment. <br />• Miscellaneous Issues <br />Piezometer installation had not commenced by the time WWL left the sight. TI7e upstream <br />and downstream faces of the embankment had yet to receive their final grading. An <br />' additional trip to the site may be required to verify piezometer installation. <br />The November 30 letter from Alana Scott to you is still in the review process.
