i . • <br />I <br />• Volume: The building proper has a total volume of 178,250 cu. ft. <br />~I Retaining Wall: The retaining wall which forms the lower half of the west <br />wall contains 604 cu. yds. of concrete and 128,000 lbs of <br />reinforcing bar. <br />' Equipment: There are 7 conveyors, 4 screens, 1 compressor, 1 crusher, <br />5 feeders, 2 sorters 2 computers, 1 control panel, 7 pumps, <br />assorted chutes, motors, electrical wires (approxirtiately 3 <br />miles), and pipes within, or adjacent to, the building. <br />The ore sorter operates on a schedule of three shifts per day (nominal - <br />~ 22 hours per day), five days per week, 252 days per year, and is operated by a <br />total of eleven persons. The job classifications are: plant superintendent; <br />electrician; electronic technician; sorter operator; and oiler. Additionally, <br />the Schwartzwalder Mine safety engineer, in conjunction with Cotter's health <br />physicist, is responsible for the monitoring program described in Section 5.0. <br />The specifications of the equipment used for the ore sorting operation <br />• are given below. Due to the fact that the ore is sorted in either one of two <br />sorting circuits, depending upon rock size, the specifications are pr=_sented <br />for the -6, +2 inch sorting circuit and the -2, +1 inch sorting circuit. <br />Additionally, the equipment listed below processes ore which has been crushed <br />in the -6, +2 inch jaw crusher and has been washed free of slimes or dust. <br />1. Sorting Circuit for approximately -6, +2 inch ore <br />A Mechanical Equipment <br />Feeders <br />Two Vibratory feeders similar to Syntron Model F-45E, one feeder trough is <br />fitted with grizzly bars for the removal of rock chips and the second is <br />equipped with corrugations. The voltage required by the feeders is 4d~0 V <br />60 cycles. <br /> <br />1-3 <br />
