provide a uniform square grid system of approximately five <br />acres per square. During 1992 a total of 17 regraded area <br />samples were taken representing approximately 85 acres of <br />additional regraded overburden area. The analyses are <br />included in Exhibit 14, Overburden Data - Reclaimed Areas. <br />No suspect materials were encountered during the sampling <br />program. <br />6. REVEGETATION MONITORING <br />Reauirement <br />Rule 4.15.1(4) of the Colowyo Permit contains a plan for <br />monitoring the success of revegetation. <br />Response <br />During the summer of 1991, Colowyo completed vegetation <br />monitoring on the following areas: <br />A. Herbaceous Frequency and Density of the 1990 Revegetated <br />Area <br />B. Herbaceous Cover of the 1984, 1987 and 1990 Revegetated <br />Areas <br />Refer to Exhibit 15. 1992 Annual Report Map, for <br />additional details as to the location of these areas. <br />A. HERBACEOUS FREQUENCY AND DENSITY OF THE 1990 REVEGETATED <br />AREA <br />The area seeded in the fall of 1991 was undergoing the <br />first growing season. Past sampling methodologies continue to <br />be used to obtain vegetation data. Two hundred fifty <br />placements of a 30 cm X 60 cm frame was used and species <br />occurrence was recorded. <br /> <br />10 <br />
