October 2000 -28- 003-2191
. the site, little or no run-off from the azea occurs. Most snowmelt evaporates or
percolates directly into the soils and only a limited number of severe summer storms are
intense and severe enough to generate any surface run-off. No springs or seeps occur on
the site and no ponding is present on the site.
A retention basin(s) will be constructed to retain storm water from the facility footprint
during the different stages of operation as shown on the drawings. Run-on into the
facility azea will be routed azound the facility, via diversion ditches, to natural drainage
features on the western side of the property. Surface rvn-off from the vicinity of the
depository flows into Plum Creek, which is a low flow stream except for response to
direct precipitation events. The drainage from Plum Creek ultimately flows to the
South Platte River.
There aze no surface water bodies within or adjacent to the depository area. See Figures
3,4,5, and 6. Because the site will control all runoff in a 100-year storm water retention
• structure, there will be no dischazge from the site [o Plum Creek and no potential for the
delivery of sedimentto the Plum Creek drainage.
3.2.2 (A) Lakes, Rivers, Streams, Springs, or Bogs, On Site or Within Two Miles of the
Site Boundary
The only stream neaz the site is Plum Creek which is described in Appendix 2. The
high flow for Plum Creek during the last year was 96 cfs on May 9, 2000 whereas the
low flow was 1.2 cfs on August 10, 2000. Annual averages, high flows, and other data
have been attached in Appendix 2. Plum Creek flow amounts respond to the direct
precipitation events and to the spring melt as evidenced by the flow rates from the
stream. The project will have no dischazges to the Plum Creek drainage. Only run-on
onto the facility will be routed to Plum Creek. See Drawings 3, 4 and 5. There are no
known springs, bogs, or lakes within two miles of the site.

V9MI91RI915edaliWamitlOW doc Sedalia Recycling Center and Depository
