BANTA, Director <br />Sampling Frequency <br />The submitted data printout was compared to the requirements outlined in <br />Table 1 of the Annual Hydrology Report. The checklists are attached for your <br />review. <br />Site 27A - Fish Creek <br />Sampling requirements were met, except ammonia, free was not analyzed for <br />the June 1987 sample. <br />The printout indicates that discharge measurements were not taken during <br />August and September 1987 because the staff gauge was broken. The <br />operator must obtain measurements by an alternate method, which should be <br />relatively easy during the low flow periods. The operator indicates that <br />a flume has been used in similar situations (page 3, AHR). <br />Site 1003 - Fish Creek <br />All sample requirements were met except ammonia, free was not analyzed <br />for the June 1987 sample. <br />Also, the operator has not converted all stream elevation data to <br />discharge values. This should be done prior to report submittal. <br />Spring FCT - 87-1 <br />The operator collected 2 full suite samples from spring 303-1, and one <br />field parameter measurement for each of the other springs. The report <br />indicates that the full suite sample should be taken from the composite <br />site, FCT~7, not from one of the other springs.
