Water quality analyses results show consistency with
previous operational and baseline results and the concentrations of chemical pazameters were
well within the acceptable limits. However, due to the very dry year, many sites were dry so only
limited water sampling could be run. The Division has the following questions and comments:
In future AHR submittals, please enlazge the Hydrologic Monitoring Location Map, Map
9, attached to the report. At the present scale, details aze very hazd to see.
2. It3 future AHR's, please correct the page number sequence in Tables 5, 6 and 7.
Please revise Table 6, on pages 31 and 32 to note the dischazge flow units.
4. Monitoring point table 73, for Deer Trail ditch-lower, shows a flow of 72 gpm on
6/24/02. However, there is no full suite analysis from list 1, as required on permit
application page 2.05-76. Please explain.
5. There aze quite a few full suite analyses done in the fourth quarter of 2002 that appeaz to
be incomplete. The surface water and ground water sites include Deer Trail Ditch-upper,
Hubbazd Creek-lower and upper, North Fork of the Gunnison-lower and upper and Terror
Creek-lower and upper. The ground water sites aze DH-1 ~, DH-25, DH-39, DH-49, DH-
58a, A~3f-1, AW-2, AW-3, AW-4, AW-5, AW-6, AW-7 and AW-9. The chemical that aze
not in the analyses include cazbonate, hydroxide, nitrite, nitrogen, phosphate,
Office of
ARive and Inactive Mines
Office of
Mined Land Rxlamation
Colorado
Geological Survey
