The annual inspection report far the RDA pond is completed for compliance with 30CFR
77.216.4. I am not aware of a State program rule requiring this report. A copy is provided to the
Division for infornta[ional purposes.
2. Compaction testing will be completed prior [o placing additional material on [he refuse pile. A
"rolling compaction demonstration" cannot be completed during periods of frozen ground cover.
A rolling compaction demonstration in early 2000 indicated a small area requiring additional
compaction. This area was ripped, graded and compacted in the third quaver of 3000 and will be
retested as soon as field conditions permit.
3. The 2nd quarter 2000 RDA Inspection Report is enclosed. The referenced slump material was
removed from the 4'^ bench following the inspection period that i[ was firs[ noted. The 3.2 to I
ou[slope was reestablished using Ss0 rock material to facilitate drainage from [he slump area.
CTL-Thompson has recommended further excavation of the slump area to establish a "french
drain". This work will be scheduled when weather conditions permit access. This work will be
certified. Note [hat during the pas[ year this area has remained dry.
Please contact me if there are any additional questions.
Sincerely,
R~ onald G.
