Munger Canyon Mine AHR Information
4/30/97 Update
Permit # C-81-020
1. AHR Due Date: A due date is not specified in either the
findings document or the PAP, however the report has typically been
submitted in January, and covers the preceding water year (Oct. 1 -
September 30).
2. Specific Reporting Requirements: The findings document
contains the following Stipulation No. 3.
THE APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT TO THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY AN ANNUAL
REPORT CHARACTERIZINGT THE INFLOWS, DISCHARGES AND THE CONSUMPTION
OF WATER WITHIN THE MINE. THIS REPORT IS TO INCLUDE A CURRENT MINE
WORKINGS MAP SHOWING THE LOCATION AND QUANTITY OF INFLOWS; A TABLE
KEYED TO THE MINE MAP WHICH SHALL CONTAIN THE SOURCE (i.e., FAULTS,
FRACTURES, etc.), QUANTITY, DURATION, AND QUALITY (i.e., pH,
ELECTRO-CONDUCTIVITY AND TEMPERATURE) OF ALL NON-SEEP INFLOWS; A
TABLE CONTAINING RECORDS OF WATER DISCHARGED FROM THE MINE,
CONSUMED IN THE MINE AND IMPORTED FOR USE WITHIN THE MINE; A
DISCUSSION OF THE WATER BALANCE WITHIN THE MINE; AND, A PROJECTION
OF HYDROLOGIC IMPACTS OF MINING IN THE UPCOMING YEAR.
In practice, the reports submitted include all surface and ground
water collected during the year as well as an evaluation of the
monitoring results with respect to the PHC projections. The
reports submitted are more comprehensive than specified in the
stipulation.
Enclosure A is the approved monitoring plan.
3. CPDES Outfalls and Effluent Limits:
Permit # 000040827
001-A (Sedimettt Pond Outfall)???
Standard List (See McClane AHR Sheet for Pond Discharge)
002-A (Mine water discharge) Same as above, but delete Settleable
solids, and add Acute WET testing.
4. 1995 AHR review letter and List of Unresolved Issues:
There are no unresolved issues from last year.
5. Probable Hydrologic Consequences
The anticipated impacts on quality and quantity of ground water and
surface water are minimal, due mainly to the small area of surface
disturbance as well as characteristics of the ground water
environment.
