Springs 3, 4, and 5. Puzther downstream, Well fi also displays an increasing TD9 trend for • <br />similar reasons. FVrthest downstream on Little Grassy Creek and below NPDES 002, is Well <br />31 A. It displayed an increasing TDS trend until July, 1993. This trend appears to have <br />leveled off seeently. <br />One well is savpled in the Grassy Creek alluvium. Well 33 displays an increasing TDS <br />trend. <br />In the Cow Cave Creek (below NPDE9 004) alluvium, water quality i9 measured at two wells. <br />Well 46 displayed an increasing TDS trend until 1986/1937, then a decrease until 1991, and <br />finally an increase since 1991. The reason for this TDS "dip" is unknown. Well 69, <br />located below 46, interestingly displays a decreasing TD9 plot. <br />Well 68, completed in the Hond Creek (Delov NPDE9 008) alluvium, was drilled along with <br />Well 69 (see above) in 1983. It likewise displays a decreasing TDS plot recently. <br />Wadqe Overburden. Tvo wells are used to monitor the eater quallty of this strata. Well <br />21 is situated outside the permit boundary and is QovnQip of prel aw mininq and an old fly <br />ash pit previously operated by Colorado-Ute Electric Association. TDS values here appear • <br />to be decreasing. Well 42, located in the south central part of the permit area, usually <br />does not have enough water in its casing to sample, as vas the ease this year. Data £ram <br />previous sav~les has been included Sn Appendix D. <br />Wadge Coal. Two wells are used to vnnitor the water quality of this strata. Well 17 is <br />located just west of NPDEe 002. The TD9 trend since 1990 appears to have leveled off. <br />Well 19 is located in the southwest part of the permit area. Its TDS trend is decreasing. <br />Wolf Creek Overburden/Wedge Underburden. Three wells are used to monitor this strata. <br />Well 7 is located below the Wolf Creek pit. It displays an increasing TDS trend. Nell <br />ep1 is located below a reclaimed portion of the Wedge pit in the southwest corner of the <br />permit area. The TD9 trend for the yell has recently increased. Well 11 is located just <br />vest of the PeCOCO pond below a reclalmed portion of the Wadqe pit. It displays a <br />decreasing TD9 trend. <br />Trout Creek Sandstone. Well 5 is used as the potable water supply for the Seneca II Nine. <br />It displays a decreasing TDS trend. • <br />6 <br />
