February 2003 Hayden Gukh Tnminal, Inc. * Hoyden Gakb Loadowt - 2002 Annua! Hydrokgy Rrpor! ~ Page 7
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The information assembled in this 2002 Annual Hydrology Report (AHR) includes data collected from
all hydrologic monitoring sites for the 2002 calendar year at Hayden Gulch Terminal, Inc.'s (HGTI)
Hayden Gulch Loadout (L,oadout) facility, Mine and Redamadon Permit No. C-92-081.
Locations of the hydrologic monitoring sites are shown on Figure 1, Monitoring Site I,acation Map.
Hydrologic monitoring at the Loadout is performed for surface water, groundwater and Colorado
Wastewater Discharge Permit System (CDPS) outfalls, Water monitoring requirements fox the
Loadout are found in Tab 13 of the existing, valid Mining and Reclamation Permit (revision date of
May 1998). Two surface water sampling sites, HGSD] and HGSD3, are located on Dry Creek
upstream and downstream of the primary disturbance area, respectively. One groundwater monitoring
well, HGDAL3, is completed in Dry Creek alluvium downstream of the primary disturbance area.
Surface water and groundwater monitoring is required semi-annually, once during spring runoff
conditions {typically during April or May} and once during fall low flow conditions (typically during
October or November). The CDPS monitoring occurred weekly, however, sample collection was only
required on a montlily basis when discharge was present.
MWf7 * 1475 Pine Grove Road, Suite 109 * Steamboat Speingr CO 80477 * (970J 879-6260
