As I
understand it, the mine continues to resolve issues associated with full bond release. Therefore, I
have included a section concerning the Division's final evaluation of changes in water quality or
quality at this site. This evaluation also includes the appropriate findings, as I understand it, for
Regulation No. 41, The Basic Standards For Ground Water.
1998 Report Review
The operator completed the spoil spring monitoring plan during the spring as required
and found no significant spoil spring flows as detailed in Table 17.
Bedrock wells, alluvial wells, spoil wells, and surface water sites were visited and
sampled in accordance with the approved plan.
The surface site, Site 29, is a rated site rather than a site measured through a controlled
section, like a flume. It is located downstream of mining on Middle Creek, below the
confluence of Middle Creek and Foidel Creek. The flow data for selected dates in 1998
is shown below:
FLOW (cfs)
March 24, 1998
Site 700 Site 900 700 + 900 Site 29
52 23 75 9.4
