Prtch Reclamaban Pro~e~y %.~~nl 2J, 1UU4 <br />2003 Mnual Re+aam~hcn I~u~ ~.^• Page 75 <br />Quarterly discharge-monitoring reports (DMRs), pursuant to Colorado Wastewater Discharge <br />Permit System (C'NDPS) number CO-0022756, were submitted to the Colorado Department of <br />Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for 2003. Monitorng for the CDPS was conducted at <br />the designated POC SW-33, shown on Figure 3. Analytical tests conducted for the DMRs at <br />SW-33 included, flow, dissolved radium 226, total radium 2261228, total uranwm, pH, total <br />suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids. oil and grease, potentially dissolved zinc, and <br />whole effluent toxicity (W ET) analyses as required by the CDPS. During 2003, all analytical <br />results were below the CDPS permit's 30-day average or daily maximum limitation. The 2003 <br />Dh1Rs are on file with the CDPHE-Water Quality Control Division. <br />4.7 Radioactive Materials License <br />The RTP bwlding, foundation and sediments excavated from the upper portion of Indian Creek <br />below the old RTP area were placed in the Tie Camp Disposal Cell in 2001. Frnal grading and <br />revegetation of the RTP area was started rn 2002 and completed in 2003. With the removal of <br />the RTP, the radioactive source material and any treatment capacity have been removed. <br />Isolated and small concentrations of the Radium 226 isotope remain in the sediment deposited <br />upstream of the sediment control embankment. <br />The Radioactive Materials License (Rfv1L) for the Pitch Project expired on March 31.2003. <br />Homeslake submitted an application for license renewal to the Colorado Department of Public <br />Health and Environment (CDPHE) on March 14, 2003 and the license was renewed effective <br />September 3, 2003. The renewed license will allow Homeslake to manage the Tie Camp Low - <br />Grade Stockpile and the sediment upstream of the sediment control embankment within the <br />guidelines of the permit. <br />A Copy of the 2003 RML report is provided in electronic Adobe Acrobat? Portable Document <br />Format on the CD attached to this report. <br />5.0 INSPECTIONS <br />Bob Oswald and Harry Posey with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of <br />Minerals and Geology, conducted a site inspection on September 2nd, 2003. No issues were <br />identified dunng the inspection.
