• Any overburden removal required will be accomplished annually
on the area expected to be mined that year. As the material
is stripped it will be cycled back to the pit slopes created
during the previous mining operation. This will eliminate
the need for a topsoil stockpile and allow slope stabalization
to proceed throughout the expected long life of the mine.
Stage I of the mining plan will begin at the east edge of the
existing pit and proceed east and north. This stage consists
of 21.87 Acres and, at our anticipated rate of extraction
will require over 16 years to deplete-
Results of calculations on all stages of the mines development
•
are shown in the followin g table:
Surface Area Net Volume Life
Permit ~k79-75 1.40 AC Mined -
Stage 1 21.87 AC 475,129 CY 16.63 YR
Stage 2 8.11 AC 164,512 CY 5.76 YR
Stage 3 9.45 AC 238,565 CY 8.35 YR
Total 40.83 AC 878,206 CY 30.74 YR
40.83 AC / 30.74 YR = 1.33 Acres/Year
Stripping and extraction is to be accomplished by means of
a front end loader.
