Site Reclamation Activity <br />April 2002 - March 2003 <br />Page 3 <br />Activities planned for 2003 are; <br />1) annual site cleanup. <br />2) maintenance of stormwater drainage controls. <br />3) reclamation of the American Tunnel portal area. The portal was <br />closed but because of seepage downstream of the American <br />Tunnel No.3 Bulkhead, reopened to determine if Sunnyside could <br />provide assistance to Gold King in reducing the seepage that <br />Gold King will be treating with their water per the agreement <br />between Gold King and Sunnyside where Gold King received the <br />buildings and treatment equipment from Sunnyside. Gold King <br />already owned the patented land. <br />4) change the Post Mining Land Use for the American Tunnel permit <br />area to industrial and modify the reclamation plan to leave <br />the buildings for non-mining use. <br />5) transfer the site stormwater permit and any residual MLR <br />permit responsibilities to Gold King Mines per the agreement <br />between Gold King and Sunnyside as part of the 4`h Amendment <br />to the Consent Decree agreement with CDPHE. <br />TERRY TUNNEL AREA - Plate No. 2 <br />During the 2002 reporting year, no additional acreage was <br />disturbed. The 4.30 reclaimed acres within the permit area were <br />monitored for growth. <br />Activity at this site consisted of; <br />1) monitoring of the vegetation. <br />2) application for termination of the CDPS discharge permit. <br />Activities planned for 2003 are; <br />1) monitoring and maintenance of the reclaimed site. <br />
