More. than three-quarters of the cover for this
lifeform was provided by alfalfa. Cicer milkvetch and Canada thistle accounted for the balance.
Other species present included blue lettuce (Lactuca tatarica ssp. Rulche11a1, buckhorn plantain
(Plantago lanceolatal, common dandelion (Taraxacum officinalel, alsike clover (Trifolium
hybriduml, and red clover (Trifolium Rr tensel. Native perennial forts comprised a small
percentage of total vegetation cover (4.3 percent). However, this was the most diverse
lifeform. Blue flax provided more than one-third of this lifeform's cover. American vetch
(Vicia americanal comprised another quarter. Other species contributing to cover were
arrowleaf balsamroot (Balsamorhiza sagittatal, gumweed, white-flowered peavine (Lathyrus
leucanthusl, common yampa (Perideridia gairdneril, and James starwort. Other species present were
crested wheatgrass, redtop (Agrostis giganteat, tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, and tall
wheatgrass (Thinopyrum ponticum). Native perennial cool season grasses accounted for 9.9
percent of total vegetation cover. Nearly two-thirds of this lifeform's cover was provided by
Agassiz bluegrass. The remaining fraction of this lifeform's cover was contributed by mountain
brome, slender wheatgrass, basin wildrye (~gymus c~nereusl, Canada bluegrass, beardless
bluebunch wheatgrass, Nelson needlegrass (Sting nelsoniil, and green needlegrass.
