Shelton
Mined Land Reclamation Division
Department of Natural Resources
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Permit No. 77-300
Dear Mr. Shelton:
DECEIVED
0 C Y 31 1984
tAINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVI;;ION
Colo. Dept. of Natural Resources
Pursuant to section 34-32-116 (1) (a) of the Colorado Mined Land R<~clama-
tion Act C.R.S. 1973, as amended, enclosed is Cotter Corporation's annual
fee of $275.00 for the above-captioned Permit.
The following is provided as the mine's Notice of Intent to Continue dining
Operations (Annual Report). Information relevant to mining and re<lamation
activities was presented to the Division in an up-to-date report on July 15,
1983, as part of the mining permit amendment application for the Sc:hwartz-
walder Mine. This amendment application was approved by the Mined Land
Reclamation Board on July 27, 1983. Additional information with respect to
borehole reclamation, topsoil cover for the waste piles and reclam~rtion
plans for the borehole adit access road was submitted to the Division in
correspondence dated September 27, 1983. Since that time, we have decided
to reclaim the borehole adit access road, as the Jefferson County Open Space
Department has decided not to use and maintain the road after cess<rtion of
mining operations. Therefore, Cotter will provide reclamation plans for
this roadway in the form of a technical revision to its mining perrait.
The status of mining and reclamation activities has remained as presented in
the permit amendment application report text with the following exceptions:
The exposed land area (approximately 2.0 acres) associated with
last year's removal of 26,000 cubic yards of waste from the East
waste pile has been graded and revegetated. This area was fer-
tilized and planted in flay of 1984 as described below:

Fertilizer: 1,000 lbs. of type 17-17-17 (Nitrogen-Phosphate-
Potash) were applied to the total 2.0 acres.
