~ • WALDEN COAL COMPANY ANNUAL RECLAMATION & HYDROLOGIC MONITORING REPORT 1990 (1) This is the second of Walden Coal Company's annual reclamation and hydrologic reports as required by Walden Coal Company's permit to mine coal (Permit # C-81-021). A map which delineates each of the areas described is included as Figure 1. (a) Name and address of the permittee and permit number. Walden Coal Company, P.O. Box 229, Boulder, CO. 80306 C-81-021. (b) Location and number of acres disturbed during the year. Walden Coal Company no longer operates a coal mine. Nothing was disturbed during the past year. (c) Location and number of acres backfilled and graded during the year. The Bourg Mine has been completely backfilled. Minor grading, of less than 1 acre, was done to fill in a ditch along the south side of the pad. (d) Location and number of acres topsoiled during the year. The settlement crack at the bottom of the property near Mann Draw was filled with topsoil. This was also less than 1 acre. (e) The species, location and number of acres of vegetation planted during the year, including any augmented seeding or cultural practices. During the past year some overseeding was conducted on the following small (less than 1 acre) sites: the ditch along the south side of the pad, the settlement crack and the proposed permanent gully along the west perimeter road. The 1988 seed mix was broadcast seeded onto the areas at a rate twice that which had been previously drilled. (f) Location, number of acres and date of planting for all previously revegetated areas. 33 acres known as the "East Dump" were seeded during the last week of September, 1984. See Figure 2 for the 1984 seed mix. 110 acres at the mine site and 4.5 acres at Northgate were seeded from October 11 through 20, 1988. The seed mixes for each of those sites are attached as Figures 3 & 4.
