Lochhead
E+ecmive Dueclur
Michael H Lung
Division Dirr~~r,~
The Division has reviewed the Annual Subsidence Monitoring Report (Mid-year Report)
submitted to us on October 29, 1996. The report summarizes subsidence monitoring data
collected during July 1996.
The report contains a straight forward rendition of the survey data for Mountain Coal
Company's (MCCs) numerous subsidence monitoring points. MCC states in their report
that the survey data presented can be applied to the Jumbo Mountain area because mining
methods and geology are similar to the area that is covered by the subsidence grid. The
maximum reported vertical subsidence continues to be less than the predicted magnitude
contained within MCC's permit document.
The brief cover letter discussion and detailed data report are acceptable as submitted.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~ ~~ ~'. ~5~~~
Michael P.
