1 <br /> SPOIL SPRING_MONITORING <br /> ' A monitoring program was initiated in 1986 and has been conducted annually. <br /> As per the approved plan the annual mine wide survey is conducted during May <br /> and springs are measured for flow and field parameters. If a spring is <br /> discharging 35 gallons per minute or greater then it will be monitored <br /> throughout the remainder of the year in accordance with the monitoring plan. <br /> No significant spoil springs were found in 1989. <br /> ' Water Quality <br /> ' In the past two years the maximum total spoil spring discharge was 0.040 cfs <br /> in 1986. The main dissolved solids was 2086 mg/l . Due to the low to <br /> nonexistent flows, the spoil springs are not significant to the hydrologic <br /> regime. <br /> - 7 - <br />
