These
weed management tasks will continue during the spring, summer and/or Fall of
2001.
2) Summer, 2000 -Afire occurred on Boulder County Open Space Property a few
miles west of the property on the Walker Ranch. The University allowed
portions of both the Deepe Farm Pit and the Turnpike Pit (M-1978-064) parcels to
be used as a staging area (Fire Camp) for the fire fighters for several days.
During this occurrence, approximately four (4) acres were disturbed combined on
both parcels with less than one (1) acre of disturbance on the Deepe Farm Pit.
The US Forest Service and other involved agencies have agreed to reimburse the
University for the restoration of the disturbed vegetation. The re-seeding and
mulching of these disturbed areas will take place in the spring of 2001 utilizing
the approved reclamation seed mix. The area of impact is shown on the attached
drawing. However, it has been suggested by the staff of the Division of Minerals
and Geology that the University wait until late spring of 2001 to determine
whether or not the vegetation will need to be restored or if it will re-start on its
own. In any case, the University will insure that the site is reclaimed.
3) April through June, 2001 - A drainage improvement project will occur on a
portion of the Deepe Farm Pit parcel. We have included a map indicating the
areas of work to be included in this project. It should be noted that some of the
work to be undertaken also affects the Turnpike Pit. The work to be undertaken
on this reclamation drainage project will include: removing approximately four
