Coal from the coal stockpile area was
placed in the bottom of the pit with scrapers while backfilling of the pit was
being done.
Samples of soil under coal stockpile area were taken on September 1, 1989.
It was determined that the S A R's were too high and we would need to subsoil
and topsoil the area.
The backfilling of the clear water division ditch was started on October 4,
1989. Reclamation on CCMC exploration drill holes and monitoring wells was started
on October 9, 1989. Casing was removed where possible, all others were excavated
to a depth of 3 feet and cut off. All holes were plugged with concrete, and
all holes drilled that were in Aquafirs have been plugged with concrete at the
bottom.
In conversation with Jim Stevens and Larry Routin on October 27, 1989, it
was agreed to let me trade material from overburden pile with material in subsoil
pile 111 because of trash and old coal found in subsoil pile. The old office
building was demolished on October 25, 1989 and the area cleaned up. Subsoiling
was started on November 3, 1989, subsoil was placed 16 inches deep over the entire
pit area. On November 14, 1989, after topsoil was in place, I dug test holes
randomly though out the reclaimed area and found an average of 5} inches of top
soil was placed and at least 16 inches of subsoil was found.
Inlantl Empire Commerce Center Kaiser Eagle Mountain, Inc Fontana Union Water Company Kaiser Waste Treatment, Inc.
