• 1.5 Sanborn Creek Mine Discharge <br />Outfa11011 is the mine water dischazge from the Sanborn Creek Mine, which <br />discharges into Sanborn Creek. Outfall Ol 1 was monitored for the full suite of groundwater <br />parameters quarterly for 1996, as required by Technical Revision No. 20. The data for Outfall <br />O1 lis contained in section 5 <br />During 1994, MSHA granted approval to use the idle C-Seam workings as a sump. <br />This has increased the retention time to settle out the suspended solids from the mine <br />dischazge water. Weekly monitoring of Outfall 011 for the discharge permit requirements has <br />shown continued compliance with the total suspended solids effluent limitation. As a result of <br />the continued compliance, the dischazge permit was amended to sampling for Total <br />Suspended Solids on a monthly basis, beginning with the fourth quarter of 1995. Field <br />parameters are still measured weekly. <br />The annual mine inflow study is presented on the Mine Inflow Map in section 7. No <br />significant changes to mine inflow have occurred in the past year. <br /> <br />U <br />
