Since much of the material cut out of the road prism during its construction was used as fill elsewhere, reclamation was accomplished by importing fill in the form of fines from fines stockpiles created in the original mining operation. After grading, the fines were covered with topsoil from original stripping stockpiles. In addition to seeding the area, small shrubs were transplanted from the area anticipated to be stripped for mining in 1988. The seeding and transplanting were accomplished in the fall, and no estimate of success is possible at this time. No fertilizer or soil conditioner was used.
