Logan Wash Mine Annual Report <br />Permit No.: M-7977-424 <br />Logan Wash Mine <br />Annual Report <br />March 28, 2003- March 27, 2004 <br />Permit No.: M-1977-424 <br />1.0 Introduction <br />This annual report has been prepared in accordance with regulations of the State of Colorado <br />Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) and the regulations promulgated by the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board. The information in this report pertains to the period March 28, <br />2003 to March 27, 2004 (reporting period). Projected reclamation activities for the following <br />year are also presented. <br />The Logan Wash Mine, located approximately 12 miles northeast of De Beque, Colorado, is <br />managed by Glenn Springs Holdings, Ina (GSHI) for Occidental Oil Shale, Inc. (OOSI). A <br />general site location map For the Logan Wash Mine is presented in Figure 1. <br />This annual report summarizes the reclamation status of the Logan Wash Mine. During the <br />reporting period, significant surface reclamation work was conducted on the OOS[ property. At <br />this time, GSHI requests to remain on Temporary Cessation status at the Logan Wash Mine Site. <br />GSHI is in the process of implementing mine closure and reclamation at the Logan Wash Mine <br />and will notify DMG regarding removal from Temporary Cessation status. GSHI anticipates <br />reclamation activities to resume in 2004. <br />The remainder of this annual report is organized as follows: <br />• Section 2: Disturbed Acreage Status <br />• Section 3: Monitoring Activities <br />• Section 4: Reclamation Activities in 2003 <br />• Section 5: Maintenance Activities <br />• Section 6: Anticipated Reclamation in the Year 2004 <br />• Section 7: Anticipated Disturbance in the Year 2004 <br />Please refer to Figure 1, the Logan Wash Mine location map, and Figure 2, the Logan Wash Mine <br />site map for features discussed in this report. This report also refers to Exhibit E, the original <br />reclamation plan, and Exhibit F, the reclamation map. These exhibits can be found in the mine <br />permit for Logan Wash Mine. <br />2.0 Disturbed Acreage Status <br />According to Exhibit E, the Reclamation Plan (1981) for Logan Wash Mine, 134.7 acres were <br />approved for disturbance within the permit area. However, only approximately 113.6 acres have <br />actually been disturbed within the permit area. To date, it is estimated that at approximately 98 <br />acres have been reclaimed at the Logan Wash Mine Site. <br />Surface structures that remain on site include, two vault structures (one on the lower bench and <br />one at the Research Mine), the evaporation pond (Pond 1) and detection vault, a 40-ft section of <br />exposed piping and support structures from the retort drainage pipeline, and monitoring wells <br />LWCW-lA, LW-112, LW-22, LW-422 (ID uncertain), and a well on the upper bench (no ID). <br />
