• Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
Southfield Mine
QUARTERLY HYDROLOGY MONITORING PROGRAM
DATA SUMMARY
1993 AHR
] . INTRODUCTION
This report presents all surface and ground water data collected at the Southfield Mine
for the reporting period July 1, 1993 through June 30, 1994. This section of the 1993 AHR
presents summarized monitoring data, from 1979 to present, and a discussion of potential
hydrologic impacts.
2. SURFACE WATER
Field and laboratory data collected form monitoring points on Newlin, Oak, Magpie
and Second Alkali Creeks are shown on water quality Tables 15, 16, 17, and 18. Stream flow
measurements for these monitoring locations is summarized on Table 14.
• Stream flow was observed and sampled at all required surface monitoring locations.
Surface flow was sampled in Second Alkali Creek for the first time during the reporting
period. The results of the Second Alkali Creek sample were submitted to the Division to
satisfy the associated permit stipulation. Stream flows in the remaining monitored creeks
were consistent with previous reporting periods with moderate to low precipitation and
snowpack levels.
A review of the streamflow quality data collected during the reporting period, as
compared with previous periods, indicate no significant changes in water quality.
The required surface water monitoring program effectively monitors the impacts of
mining operations on the surface water system adjacent to the Southfield Mine and loadout
site. Monitoring data documented through the period of this report indicate no significant
impacts to surface water as a result of mining operations.
2. GROUND WATER
Field and laboratory data collected from monitor wells MW-8, MW-10, MW-16,
MW-23, and MW-65 are summarized as described below. All data was collected in
compliance with the approved monitoring program.
