<br /> <br />The waste dump and stockpile areas include: <br />(I) 4.6 acres which is a raw material holding area which is considered <br />major disturbance; (J) 2.0 acres which is also a raw material holding area <br />and considered a major disturbance; (K) 16.7 acres opened in 1978 to <br />facilitate a waste dump, major disturbance; (L) 9.5 acres which is an over- <br />burden dump area; major disturbance; (M) 11.2 acres opened in 1977 for <br />overburden disposal, moderate disturbance; (N) 9.9 acres opened in 1978 for <br />overburden disposal, moderate disturbance; (0) 15.4 acres opened prior to <br />1973 for raw material stockpile, major disturbance; (P) 31.8 acres in the <br />southern portion of the mine used for overburden disposal, moderate dis- <br />turbance. There are 101.1 acres designated as stockpile and waste dis- <br />posal areas of which 52.9 acres are moderate disturbance and 48.2 acres are <br />• major disturbance. The 52.9 acres that are moderate disturbance are back- <br />filled with topsoil spreading and final grading in progress. These areas <br />will be seeded in late 1979 or early 1980. <br />The areas that have been reclaimed have been seeded with a dryland <br />pasture mix, an irrigated pasture mix, and, on occasion, a combination of <br />the two. <br />The dryland pasture mix includes: <br />39% winter rye <br />13% ranger alfalfa <br />9% smooth broom <br />8% intermediate wheat grass <br />7% slender wheat grass <br />8% Hordan crested wheat grass <br />• 6% Russian wild rye <br />10% Jose tall wheat grass <br />2 <br />
