VII. RECLAMATION SUMMARY
In keeping with proposed rule 2.04.13 and Stipulation M17, the
• following is submitted:
A. Keenesburg Mine
Box 359
Keenesburg, Colorado 00643
B. No additional disturbance since 1987
C. There was no backfilling and grading in 1990. Filling of B Pit
continues and amounted to approximately 500,000 ccy in 1990.
D. No topsoiling in 1990.
E. No revegetation in 1990.
F. There have been 133 acres seeded since 1985 of 424 acres
disturbed.
G. Present cuts and fills as of the most recent aerial map of
12/3/90 (See Appendix) compared to 1989 map of 11/28/89 indicate no
swell. No coal mined during 1990. This factor is derived by
plotting cross-sections on 100' intervals and computing the cut and
fill differences from 1989. These calculations and cross-sections
are available for inspection at the Golden Office.
Coors expects to make up the deficit of fill material available at
• the mine to restore AOC by long range hauling of ash from its
power plant in Golden. Depending on the quantity of ash hauled and
the years hauled, there may be an excess of spoil at some future
date. At present, this is not the ease.
H. Filling of B Pit continues. As can be seen on the map included
in the Appendix, the deep part of the pit (present depressed water
table) has been filled except for 350' x 60' on the north end.
After all standing water in the pit is covered, Coors will continue
backfilling in five foot lifts to an elevation that is five feet
above the recovered water table. At that time, it will be
necessary to decide whether B Pit will be filled to AOC ar
permitted for future asli disposal.
•
Page 10
