Mr. Boulay
1995 AHR Responses
Page 4
20. TSS was only excceded at MB-1 during the monitoring period 9410-01 to 9412-31 (30 day
average of 44, over the 35 specified; daily maximum 112, over the 70 specified). The 30 day
average for TSS for MB-2R for the same period was 35, 35 specified; daily maximum 54, 70
specified. The 30 day average threshold was reached, but not exceeded. TSS measurements
during the first and second quarter of 1995 are summarized in the following table.
TSS, MB-2R
Parameter Criteria 1st quarter 2nd quarter
30 day average 35 26.5 16.5
daily maximum 70 30 24
After discussions with the Colorado Departrnem of Public Health and the Environment,
operational, as well as sampling, protocols were modified. Each primary discharge spillway
from MB-1 and MB-2R have gates. The operational procedure is to keep the gates closed,
and to collect a "predischarge" sample from the pond near the gate before release to insure
effluents are within NPDES limits. Please find a revised page 22 enclosed.
21. "Incident Reports" related to oil spills will be provided in future AHRs.
22. Please find two copies of page 23 enclosed.
Please call me if you have any questions concerning these responses.
Christine E.
