- -

Jeff Deckler - 2 - April 16, 1986
4. Well CCAW-1 shows an excessively high TSS of 3,621 mg/1, as seen in
Well PAW-4. Therefore, the same questions relative to Well PAW-4
should be applied to Well CCAW-1; especially, are these data for the
sampling date November 26, 1985 useful? Also Well CCAW-1 shows an
increase in TDS to 3,890 mg/1 on February 26, 1985, what is this due
to, this is a factor increase of 6 above average?
5. Well ACAW-1 indicates normal good water quality variations up to last
sampling date of August 26, 1985. Then all data reporting stops. A
footnote indicates that MLRD has issued a discontinuance until further
disturbance in the valley occurs based on Stipulation No. 14. Neither
the copy of the letter nor Stipulation No. 14 is included in the
hydrology report. For public record purposes these should be
included. The letter is dated September 4, 1985 and applies to all
wells fom September/October readings.
6. No unusual aberrations in water quality were noted for the spring and
seep survey for August 1985 sampling date. Further, other than the
aberrations noted in this list (Questions 1-5) no abnormal effects or
parameters in excess of standards for the ground water monitoring
program have been observed.
Monitoring Results - Surface Water
1. Site No. CCS-2 shows two periods of sampling that indicate a marked
decrease in water quality. The first period is February 26, 1985 on
which TDS increased to 1,440 mg/1 and iron was up to 1.04 mg/1. The
second period was on August 26, 1985 when TSS increased to 329 and iron
and manganese increased to 5.65 and 0.19 respectively. These increases
are above limits set for Secondary Drinking Water Standards.
2. Information missing consisted of the February sampling period for
Site No. PRS-2, no explanation was given. Site No. SCF-1 shows a
discontinuance of field parameter monitoring in November 1985 as per
revised Stipulation No. 14. Again, to repeat, no copy of the revised
Stipulation No, 14 or original Stipulation No. 14 is found in the
report.
srs
9281E
