~;
[his mine. Virtually all of the old workings of this mine are accessible
and few collapsed roofs or cave-ins could be seen. However, should sub-
sidence occur in the future, there are no structures, houses, roads, major
drainages, or other facilities that could be damaged by subsidence. The
maximum impact of such subsidence may be diminished range capacity for
grazing.
DISPOSAL OF "COD" ROCK
At the time of this writing, some gob has been placed along the outer
edges of the lower level fill outside the mine. It is recommended that
this material be rehandled to the point of creating permanent berms to
control erosion on the face of the fill, and that the remainder be scat-
1
tered as base material on the lower level of the affected area. The
t
~, operators of the mine indicate that all future gob will be stored in
,abandoned workings and none will be brought to the surface. Our inspec-
tion of the mine indicates that this is feasible as many, open, abandoned
rooms could be seen. This method is preferred, both from a safety and
economic position.
RECLAMATION
The details of the reclamation plan are being prepared by others.
Based on our investigation it is our opinion that there is sufficient
material available to reconstruct the site to its approximate original
