Resourc EAGLE PIT PERMIT NO. 78-352 In the past months , it has become apparent that there has been a major misunderstanding among various parties involved in the mining of this pit. Because of mistakes in the plat as prepared by the original surveyor, the operator at the pit believed the plat to cover the entire 59 acres of land which had been purchased for mining purposes . In fact , the plat and the permit issued on the basis of that plat covered only approximately 28 acres of the land purchased. Therefore, the location of Nottingham' s actual operations and the probable reclamation timetable vary significantly from the representations made and believed to be accurate at the time of the original permit application and the 1981 annual report. The operator proposes to begin immediately to prepare an application for an amended permit on this pit which will revise the mining and reclamation timetables out- lined in the original application and will include and pro- vide for the additional 30 acres (approximately) to be mined. Nevertheless , we wish to file at this time an annual report which provides the Board with accurate information as to the present status at the Eagle Pit.
