Lafarge West, Inc, Howe Pit ~FC1n <br />Bull Seep 2002 Reclamation Report qpq ~V~Q <br />07~~5 ~~~ <br />Overview ,on~j~~Oe~e~sa 3 <br />Habitat Management, Inc. ("Habitat Management") performed riparian n~CPO~osV <br />and up]and reclamation activities between May 27 and 30, 2003 and October 23 <br />and November 7, 2003 at the Lafarge West, Inc. Howe Pit ("Lafarge") near <br />Brighton, Colorado as described in this document. The reclamation area includes <br />the Bull Seep realignment as depicted on Exhibit 1. <br />Lafarge completed grading activities in April 2002 and Bull Seep water <br />flow was restored to the reconstructed channel. Water flow was cut off just prior <br />to performing riparian reclamation activities in late May. Due to the severe <br />drought conditions, upland seeding activities were not performed until late <br />October. <br />Seedbed Preparation: May 2002 <br />Prior to revegetation activities in May, Lafarge ripped the level areas <br />adjacent to the 3:1 and 2:1 reconstructed Bull Seep channel side slopes. The <br />channel side slopes were not ripped since they were inaccessible to equipment. <br />The surface soils of the side slopes were not excessively compacted and provided <br />a suitable seedbed without additional preparation activities.
