• Several predator species have been observed along the Piceance Creek and White River <br />roads. The more common of these are the coyote, fox, bobcat, long-tail weasel and badger. <br />Coyotes are the most common predator and are commonly observed by employees traveling to <br />and from work. <br />Golden eagles and bald eagles are commonly observed along Piceance Creek during the <br />winter and spring months. Occasional visitors to the ponds on the north end of the mine facility <br />include the following waterfowl: western and eared grebe, white faced Ibis, glossy ibis, Canada <br />geese, sea gulls, blue winged teal, American avocets, willet, phalaropes, killdeer, mallards, <br />common goldeneye, ruddy, common loon, and assorted other waterfowl. <br />n <br />U <br />6.3 Environmental Protection and Control <br />6.3.1 Air Pollution Control <br />Stack emission monitoring and record keeping for permit compliance with natural gas usage, <br />production and emissions were performed. No APCD inspection was made in 2001. <br />6.3.2 Water Managemerrt/Augmerrtatron <br />Pumpage and hydrology monitoring results were submitted to State Water Engineer for 2001. <br />93 <br />• <br />
