• ~ -'
ANNUAL REPORT FUR OCTOBER 10, 1981 PERMIT ANNIVIItSARY
PORTLAND PLANE QUARRY PERMIT N0. 77-344
FRENDNf COUNTY, COLORADO
IDEAL BASIC INDUSTRIES, INC. '~
Attached map pcc-1387 C has been marked to outline areas
of quarry operation and the various phases of affected land
as of about October 1, 1981. In compliance with Rule 2.41,
the following information is given by item numbers indicated.
(1) Location and Number of Acres Affected During the Year.
Affected acres for this report total 284, as compared to
271 last year. Five acres have been added as new disturbance
due to the addition of highwall benches and top safety berm
beyond the previously designated south line of Cut 4.
Careful reassessment of all affected areas and the new total
of 284 acres also corrects to current status any cumulative
errors from previous report adjustments. The additional
8 acres difference is explained in this manner.
Limestone removal is from Cut 3 with minor amounts remaining
in Cut 2. The sandstone pit has been moved to the worked-out area
of Cut 2 and stripping of Cut 4 has just started.
Following is a tabulation of the affected acreage breakdown,
presented as indicated on the map, to the major, moderate and
minor disturbance classifications. With the larger acreage
now in the minor category, it appears a current total bond
should be slightly less than the present $248,300 and enable
continuation of bond for another year without change.
Designation of Areas, Map 1387 C
Cut 2 and 4
East of fault line, topsoil piles, etc
Cut 3
North of Crusher, 1/2 of 44 ac.
Slope South of old dump
Overburden Pile from Cut 2--
compacted, ready for topsoil
Quarry Garage, Secondary Crusher
and south portion of roads
Old dump, ready to seed
Cut 1, ready to seed
Totals this Report
Totals 1980 Report
Affected
Major Moderate Minor Total Acres
50
31
35
22 22
4
23
25
47
25
142 70 72 284
156 91 24 271
284 Active Acres plus 1,242 Future = 1,526 (total acres) Permit 77-344
