measurements shoos loner Than normal flows the pa sf five years. Review of Table 16
(Appendix A) shoos eater at this site To be a CaMgNa-S04 type. The TDS average for this
year was loner than that of the past six years because TDS samples were taken at higher
flows (therefore, loner TDS) than in prior years.
NPDES Discharge Point 002. Hydrographs based on weekly flow measurements are presented in
Appendix E. the hydrographs consist of too pages, the first is for data collected in 1991
only, and the second shoos historical data from January, 1980, to September, 1991. Review
of the second hydrograph shows that floes the past five years have been loner than normal.
This is also confirmed by the tollouing table which lists the mean weekly floes for each
year.
1991 WY (Water Year) = 0.072 cfs
1990 WY = 0.076 cfs
1989WY = 0.181 cfs
1988WY = 0.055 cfs
1987WY = 0.070 cfs
1986WY = 0.568 cfs
1985 CY (Calendar Year) = 1.172 cfs
1984CY = 1.439 cfs
1983CY = 0.531 cfs
1982CY = 0.547 cfs
1961CY = 0.098 cfs
1980CY = 0.990 cfs
Discharges measured at this site ere also affected by the pumping of eater from this pond
for the truck wash system. This pumping began on September 18, 1984. In addition, spring
runoff tLous are affected primarily by the snoupack for that winter and not what the total
precipitation was for that whole water year. In other cords, a normal water year (in
regards to total precipitation) may have below normal spring runoff if the snoupack for
that winter was below normal.
l~Review of .Table 15 (Appendix A) shoos this water to be a MgCa-S04 type. TDS values at
~1 / this site have remained relatively stable since 1981, indicating that the eater quality of
~:' spoils discharges into this pond have also stabilized.
r/`/\

16
