IMPACTS AND FUTURE MONITORING
Increased salt loading from the Mine 1 discharges have been observed since
1982. They appear to have leveled off in 1986. While the salt loading his
increased it has not caused any material damage. High dissolved manganese.
levels have occurred at Pond F. A change in stream designation has been
requested. Localized increases in dissolved solids in the Foidel Creek
' alluvium have been observed; however, these increases are confined to areas
immediately adjacent to the mine and no material damage has or is expected
to occur. As predicted, a Wadge Overburden well has increased dissolved
solids levels. The increase is within predicted levels and since there are
' no wells completed in this aquifer (except by the mines) no material damage
has or will occur. No impacts from Mine 2 have been observed. Due to ~
redundancy of data the frequency of monitoring of Station 114 can be
' decreased. /

1

1
1
LJ
1
1
' - 12 -
