b. Fertilizer Annlication -Idarado may apply inorganic fertilizer <br />(nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) or organic fertilizer to individual, <br />several or all of the tailings piles if the results of monitoring, sampling <br />and/or analysis of the'revegetated areas conducted pursuant to Section <br />15.0 indicate that such application is necessary to promote appropriate <br />species diversity and cover. The rate of fertilizer applications will be <br />based on the results of revegetation monitoring conducted pursuant to <br />Section 15.0. <br />o. Mowing -Idarado may mow the revegetated areas on individual, <br />several, or all of the tailings piles if the results of monitoring conducted <br />pursuant to Section 15.0 indicate that mowing is necessary to promote <br />vegetative conditions by enhancing litter decomposition. If necessary, <br />mowing would be conducted in the fall near or at the end of the growing <br />season. Mowed cuttings, clippings and other organic debris will be left in <br />place to enhance nutrient decomposition and development. <br />d. Irrigation Water Application -Idarado may apply irrigation water <br />to individual, several or all of the tailings piles during the period from <br />March 1 through September 30 in an amount up to the difference between <br />[he average weekly aggregate precipitation for the preceding week for the <br />area in which the pile is located and the actual weekly aggregate <br />precipitation for that week for that area according to the procedures <br />specified in Section 14,1.3. <br />3. Paragraph 14.1.4 is renumbered and is modified to read as follows: <br />14.1.5. Correction of Erosion During Establishment Period. Throughout <br />the establishment period, Idarado will identify erosion rills or gullies that <br />occur on the piles and fill them with borrow material, regrade the areas <br />surrounding the gullies and rills, and retreat the areas with amendments <br />and seed. Idarado will attempt to identify the cause of any significant <br />erosion and take corrective measures to eliminate the cause, tvlrich <br />measures may include regrading areas of the pile, construction of <br />stabilized channels to convey runoff down the side slopes of the pile, and <br />other similar measures. <br />4. Paragraph 14.1.5 is renumbered to 14.1.6, <br />5. Paragraph 14.2 is modified to read as follows: <br />14.2. Revegetation Evaluation Period.
