1
' A further analysis of the available cluster data was used to assess the
hypothesis that distinct °structural blocks" exist within the quarry, a cluster
' analysis showing the poles based on collection areas has been developed
(Figure 10). The datasets have been broken down based on the location and
' year chat the data was collected. The southern expansion area is separated
geographically from the middle level and main pit area of the quarry (labeled
middle level) by the approximately east-west trending fault that is mapped
' between the areas (Figure 3). Currently the 1997-2002 data remains as a single
data set, but all other data collected has been grouped based on this potential
' boundary.

Table 2: Representative Discontinuity Orientations
tcentration
& 2004 ~
2003
2003
2005
Center LF&A Main Pit Southern LF&A
Surface Borehole Data Expansion Mapping
Mapping Borehole Data Data
Data
(2863
F-1 (Foliation) 176°/36° 168°/38° 177°/35° - 162°/36°
F-2 (Foliation) - - 258°/17° (1) 209°h6° -
F3 (Foliation} 336°/44° -
P-1 (Joint) 174°/81° 178°/74° 171°/75° 172°!76° 174°/72°
P-2 (Joint) 089°!72° 082°/63° 095°/55° 104°/61 ° 087°/57°
P-3 (Joint) 257°/73° 256°/66° 248°/53° 255°/61° 250°/67°
P-4 (Joint) 293°/72° 294°/'70° 316°/41° 308°/76° 297°/70°
P-5 (Joint) 334°/86° 349°/62° 343°!73° - 343°/62°
P-6 (Joint) 028°/68° 037°/57° 031°/55° ' 039°/58° 035°/55°
(1) Orientation of foliation found in the upper 300 feet of boring DH-03-03
(2) The orientations in bold were used as representative for this study
' Note the overall adjustments shown in Table 2 that have been made to the
general orientations for each of the discontinuity (foliation and joint) sets based
on the combined discontinuity data obtained over multiple years' analyses.
' Overall, the discontinuity sets obtained by analysis of the entire dataset (i.e.,
' 2,863 points) are consistent with the cluster analysis from previous years'
individual analyses, with the exception of foliation orientations, F-2 and F-3
-ts-
