• Dove FlW
5.7 Surface Water Location DFSW-3
No volatile organic compounds were detected in either the first or second quarter analyses. The
remaining constituents are consistent with the first quarter results. Hardness, specific
conductance and total dissolved solids are higher in the third quarter.
6.0 CONCLUSIONS
The levels of volatile organic compounds in the third quarter groundwater and surface water
samples are consistent with the first and second quarter analyses. No volatile organic compounds
were detected in third quarter water samples in monitoring well locations DFMW-1, DFMW-3
sand DFMW-4 and at surface water sampling location DFSW-3. One volatile organic compound
(VOC) was detected in the third quarter at monitoring well location DFMW-2 and one VOC in
well DFMW-2. These are estimated values and were detected below the EPA practical
quantitation limits. These estimated levels constitute trace levels of the constituents and do not
indicate any marked deviation from the first or second quarter analyses.
Comparisons of the inorganic analyses of the third quarter surface and ground water samples
• with the first and second quarter analyses indicate relatively small deviations and overall
consistent results.
Anionic concentrations of the ground water and surface water samples were relatively consistent
with the corresponding first and second quarter concentrations. The turbidity and total suspended
solids levels in the ground water monitoring wells were reduced in the third quarter analyses for
wells DFMW-1 and DFMW-4. This is attributed to the additional development during purging
of the wells which removed fine sediments from the wells. Because of the low pH values,
carbonates were not detected in any of the surface or ground water samples.
Surface water sampling location DFSW-1 is now dry and is not expected to contain water again
until the spring runoff occurs.
.
