1

Project Narrative
DOA140232
The fallowing report contains [he analytical results for eleven soil samples submitted to Quan[erra-
Denver on January L4, 2000, according to documented sample acceptance procedures.
t Dilution factors and footnotes have been provided on each da[asheet to assist in the interpretation of the
results.
Quanterra utilizes USEPA approved methods in all analytical work. The samples presented in this repott
' were analyzed for the parameters listed on the analytical methods summary page in accordance with the
methods indicated. A summary of QC data for these analyses is included at the rear of the report.
t The results included in this report have been reviewed for compliance with the laboratory QA/QC plan.
All data have been found to be compliant with the exception of those items noted.
' Supplemental QC Information
Sample Arrival and Receipt
The samples presented in this report were received at the laboratory at a temperature of 11.3 degrees
Celsius. All sample bottles were received in acceptable condition. The high cooler temperature was
discussed with the client on January 14, 2000, and the laboratory was advised to proceed with [he
anal
ses
y
.
Pesticides SOSLA
' Samples DOA140232-007 and -008 were analyzed at dilutions due [o the high concentration of non-
targe[ analytes. The surrogate recoveries could not be calculated as a result of these dilutions.
' Sample DOA140232-011 was analyzed at a dilution due to the concentration of target analytes. The
surrogate recoveries could no[ be calculated as a result of this dilution.
The matrix spike in QC batch 0021146 exhibited surrogate recovery above the established control limit
' due to matrix effects. The associated method blank and laboratory control sample were in control, no
further action was taken by the laboratory.
' PCBs 8082
Sample DOA140232-001 exhibited surrogate recovery for Decachlorobiphenyl outside the established
control limit due to matrix effects. The analyst observed clear evidence of matrix interference on the
' sample chromatogram. In addition, this method allows for one of the two surrogates to be outside the
established control limits. Both surrogates were in control in the associated method blank and laboratory
control sample. No further action was taken by the laboratory.
' Sample DOA140232-011 was analyzed at a dilution due to the high concentration of non-target analytes.
The surrogate recoveries could not be calculated as a result of [his dilution.

1
1
