P. 14-6, RSRDA final reclamation narrative. Describes slope
grading, bench drain construction, cover soil replacement, and
diversion construction to occur upon future initiation of
final reclamation.
P. 14-10, CRDA 1 and 2 additional reclamation narrative.
Appendix 14-6, RSRDA Final Reclamation Drainage Design (future
implementation).
Exhibit RS-11-008, RSRDA Revegetation/Cover Thickness field
trials layout. Exhibit 6C, RSRDA Postmine Topography Map.
Exhibit 9C and Exhibit 18, CRDA 1 Postmine Topography Map and
Cross Sections. Exhibit 26, RSRDA existing and proposed final
contours.
Tab 18 Hydrologic Monitoring Plan
P. 18-4, CRDA 1 and 2 piezometer narrative. Four pz's
installed on CRDA-1 1984-1991. Three pz's installed on CRDA
2 in 1991. Due to higher than anticipated water levels than
originally assumed, additional studies were performed,
culminating in a December, 1993 report by Western Engineers of
Grand Junction. As a result of their evaluation, thirty pz's
(PZ 100-107, 200-206, 300-307, and 400-406 were installed at
four locations on the pile. Multiple 1/2" diam. pz's were
installed in each bore hole. Multiple zones within the hole
separated by bentonite plugs. The study established "critical
target depths for each pz, at which stability of the pile
could again be in question. These pz's monitored quarterly.
Total pz depths and Critical Target Depths are listed in Table
18-4 (enclosed).
Relevant Documentation Not Currently in the Permit Application
Package.
1) Pertinent sections of a May 19, 1988 memo from Jim Pendleton of
DMG to Mike Long of DMG regarding a May 16, 1988 OSM oversight
inspection at CRDA 1, an August 29, 1988 letter from Larry Reschke
of Powderhorn to Michael Savage of DMG regarding issues of concern
at CRDA 1, and September 2, 1988 review memo from Jim Pendleton to
Michael Savage (all enclosed).
2) Stability analysis of CRDA 1 completed by Western Engineers of
Grand Junction, and submitted with Technical Revision 18 in July,
1993, to allow for reactivation of CRDA 1.
3) September 3, 1994 review memo from Jim Pendleton to Erica Crosby
of DMG, regarding the Western Engineers stability analysis
(enclosed).
4) Quarterly refuse piezometer water levels (in annual hydrologic
reports for 1995 and prior water years, on file at mine office for
