BAN7A, Olreetor <br />DATE: September 2, 1988 ~. <br />T0: Nike Savage ~ _ <br />FROM: Jim Pendleton <br />RE: Powder rn Coal ny's Response to Waste Pile Problem Letter ~ <br />(Permit #C-81-041) <br />I have completed a review of the letter submitted by Larry Reschke, P.E., ,.~ , <br />engineer for Powderhorn Coal, in response to the Division's waste pile problem <br />letter of July 6, 1988. Basically, Mr. Reschke commits Powderhorn Coal to <br />regrading the two lower pile face terrace benches prior to December 1, 1988. <br />He states that they will be graded to drain to the inside and laterally to <br />both ends of the pile. He also requests that the requirement for reevaluation <br />of the pile's structural slope stability be deferred until such time as the <br />operator desires to resume placement of waste upon the pile or to conmence <br />reclamation of the pile. <br />In my opinion, the operator's proposal is acceptable. I believe t4 r.
